Fear is the #1 killer of business

Most entrepreneurs never consider the heart when they get into business. Focusing solely on hustle and hard work. However, recent research suggests this approach is both backward and ineffective. Humans are not just physical beings; we are 90% emotional.

Emotions = Energy in Motion

Nearly everything we do is rooted in emotion. Our rational mind follows our emotional mind. This is by human design, and we can't fight against it.

Despite being 90% emotional, we live in a culture that neglects studying or processing emotions. We're told to ignore our feelings and push through, bottling them up no matter how conflicted we feel inside.

My self-studies in neuroscience and mind-body medicine have shown me that emotions are a form of intelligence barely utilized by the average person. Emotions are a creative force that have only been scientifically studied in the last 30 years.

In the meditation world, I learned that feelings have a magnetic quality.

Scientists have discovered that our heart emits a strong electromagnetic field, much stronger than our brain. This field significantly influences brain function, our immune system and even the cells of our bodies.

In short, emotions are subtle magnetic forces that release chemicals in our body and brain. That makes our emotions either toxic or medicinal.

Coherent Heart Rhythms and Emotional Stability

Coherent heart rhythms facilitate cognitive function and emotional stability, while incoherent rhythms do the opposite. Elevated feelings such as gratitude or forgiveness improve our capacity for creativity and problem-solving, which are essential for entrepreneurship.

This is why success in business boils down to the quality of our emotions.

  • Gratitude: You’ll notice the good in your life and act accordingly. Your brain will be creative and solve problems effectively.

  • Fear: You’ll see problems everywhere. Your brain will think chaotically, and your creative abilities will be paralyzed.

A clear-thinking and creative brain is crucial in life and business. But, there's a twist. This clear mind only comes through having a grateful and calm heart.

Ask Yourself: What Emotion is Driving Your Business?

I’ve worked with startup founders who realized years into their journey that their motive behind their businesses was rooted in fear. They started their companies to prove themselves or show their worth, and now their startups are collapsing. It’s terrible fuel.

After 7 years of struggle and the startup collapsing, I asked one founder, "Isn’t this everything you feared since day one?"

He responded, "This is the worst possible outcome that I always avoided on the outside but deeply feared on the inside."

It’s fascinating that the invisible forces inside us have much more power than the external forces we animate in the world. Our body follows the habitual blueprint of our feelings. This makes feelings an incredibly intelligent and creative force worthy of deep study.

The Neuroscience of Gratitude

Neuroscience has discovered that emotions like gratitude release certain neurotransmitters like dopamine. As an entrepreneur, you know dopamine is key to motivation and accomplishment.

Gratitude significantly improves brain function and general well-being. It increases focus, clear thinking, and strengthens the immune system.

What kind of sorcery is this? Are we magicians unaware of the creative power of our emotions?

I applied these principles in my life before writing on X. 2 months have passed and I’ve grown by 15k followers. Making me the fastest-growing account in the personal branding sector.

I consistently wrote content with feelings of joy and curiosity, no fear, worry, or greed. The results have exceeded my expectations.

This experience shows that fear is destructive and a terrible fuel. In contrast, love is creative, making it the best fuel for business and innovation.

These concepts are no longer "woo-woo." This is verifiable science.

Ask Yourself: “How can I forgive others and practice deeper gratitude before taking action in business?”

You’ll see the creative thinking and enthusiasm that will naturally follow.

Cheers,
