This 7-inch-nail will change the way you see pain

HINT: The pain is real. But the danger is imaginary

In 1995, a 29-year-old construction worker jumped onto a plank and felt a 7-inch nail pierce through his boot.

The pain erupted.

As the man looked at his co-workers' faces that went white with horror, the pain intensified. He was rushed to the ER, and sedated with opioids because the agony was unbearable.

But when the doctors removed his boot?

They discovered something incredible:

The nail didn’t pierce the construction worker’s foot. The nail landed between his toes, leaving him unharmed.

Yet, why was the pain so real?

The construction worker’s brain saw the nail sticking out of his boot, heard his co-workers gasp, felt the initial impact, and made a split-second decision:

"Danger! Create pain to protect him!"

The construction worker's nervous system wasn’t broken, it actually responded well. But his nervous system responded to a threat rather than actual tissue damage.

That’s the problem tens of millions of people face today…

Our brains get stuck in protection mode, creating very real pain, fatigue, and other symptoms to keep us "safe" from dangers that may no longer exist.

It’s safe to say positive thinking or "just relaxing" isn’t the solution here.

It's about nervous system regulation and brain retraining, to give your protective system new information so it can finally feel safe to let go. And because of all the new breakthrough research in neuroplasticity, the science say:

“Yes, your pain is reversible"

Here’s how…

That construction worker's brain created real pain from a perceived threat, right? But once he understood what happened, the pain vanished.

So what if you could train your brain to do the same thing?

Well, in Week 2 of Brain Based Healing, I teach The Somatic Tracking Protocol.

This Somatic Tracking Protocol is a primary part of Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) that uses safety reappraisal to retrain neural pathways and reduce chronic pain by teaching the brain that these sensations are not dangerous.
